Goal(s)

The goal of this lab work is to design a WiFi communication system, integrating device specifications in order to evaluate radio system performances. Basics on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing modulation technique and related main properties will be introduced.

Content(s)

4 labwork sessions on system design, including RF front-end design for both emitter and receiver:

- Study of WiFi communication standard,
- Simulation of RF front-end transmitter impact on OFDM waveform,
- Receiver sensitivity, system dynamic range
- Definition of the expected device specifications to meet the required system performance in terms of signal to noise ratio
- Evaluation of the overall system performance including radio propagation effect.
