Goal(s)

This course is designed to provide students with all the skills necessary to implement numerical modeling/simulation of a physical problem in an industrial or academic environment. Comsol MultiPhysics and Fluent software are used to apply some of the concepts covered.

Course/DD. Modeling/Numerical simulation with software

  • How to model a physical problem
  • Choice of an appropriate numerical method (FE, VF, DF etc.)
  • Mesh properties
  • The CFD approach
  • Notion of parallel calculation
    Notion of parallel computation * etc.

Project: Practical application on a problem



Prerequisites

Notions of numerical methods (2A) and physical modeling of transport phenomena (convection, diffusion, etc.)

Test

In class

Continuous control in the form of a report based on the results obtained during the sessions.
