  • Thermodynamics of phase transformations
  • Mechanisms of nucleation, growth and coasrsening
  • Precipitation, transformations with migrating interfaces
  • Application to the main material classes


Prerequisites

Basic knowledge on thermodynamics : phase diagrams, Gibbs free energy, chemical potential
Basic knowledge on point defects and solid state diffusion

Tests

Written exam 2h.
