Goals

  • To provide basic theory and techniques in signal processing, particularly for further specialisation.
  • To illustrate different application domains: filtering, modulation, spectral analysis, noise reduction, etc.

  • Linear and time-invariant systems
  • Convolution and linear filtering
  • Certain signals
  • Correlation and relations of energy
  • Modulated signals and frequency changes
  • Spectral analyser
  • Sampling and Shannon's theorem
  • Fourier transform for discrete signals
  • Random signals, stationary properties, white noise
