Goals

This cycle of practical lab sessions targets the set-up of an experiment :

  • starting from a hypothesis or a simple objectif
  • writing an adequate protocol to test the hypothesis or to attain the objectif
  • setting up the associated measurements and collecting data
  • describing and presenting the observations
  • analysing the measures and provide a feedback with respect to the initial hypothesis

Content

4 Lab sessions of 4 hours :

  • getting aquainted with lab measurement devices and their limits (input/output impedance, non-linearities, ...)
  • uncertainty of measurement
  • electrical hasards : an introduction
  • experimental methods : from hypothesis to analysis of observations

Continuous assessment : a laboratory report will be due at the end of each lab
