Sustainability transition : a Conference organized by Phelma's students

A group of current Grenoble INP - Phelma Nuclear Engineering students (EMINE/MANUEN) are organizing an interactive conference focusing on energy sustainability issues, and discussing potential solutions for a more sustainable future. The event will consist of student presentations on a variety of topics, and will be headlined by talks from two exciting guest speakers: James Airbib and Eirik Pettersen. It will be hosted in the Minatec Ampitheatre M001 at the Phelma Campus in Grenoble on the 30th January 2018, kicking off at 15:30

Eirik Pettersen is the co-founder of green-tech startup Seaborg Technologies – developing a thorium fueled waste burning Molten Salt Reactor (MSR). He is an InnoEnergy EMINE MSc nuclear engineering graduate with background from NTNU, NBI, BarcelonaTech, INSTN, and PSI. James Arbib is the co founder of RethinkX and founder of Tellus Mater – both dedicated to exploring the speed, scale and impact of disruptive technology, and its potential for solving some of the world’s most challenging problems. He has a Masters in Sustainability Leadership from Cambridge, is also a qualified chartered accountant and worked as an investment analyst covering Utilities.

The conference is open to students, academic staff, industry representatives and anyone who is interested in the themes being discussed. It will be hosted in the Minatec Ampitheatre M001 at "Phelma Minatec" in Grenoble on the 30th January 2018, kicking off at 15:30.
