Summary

The Master MaNuEn - Materials Science for Nuclear Energy is an international master designed for students wishing to pursue a career in the nuclear industry, in R & D or working for research organizations. MaNuEn is a 2-year master's degree aiming at covering the specificities of materials used in a nuclear environment, mainly nuclear fuels and components, with a particular focus on the durability of materials under irradiation. The second year of the MaNuEn Master is common with the Master of Science in Nuclear Energy - EMINE (first year at KTH in Sweden or the UPC in Spain) Master of Science Innovation in Nuclear Energy - EMINE

Train engineers or researchers on aspects related to materials and their sustainability in the nuclear field.

120 ECTS fully taught in english (IELTS 5.5 required).

More than 50% of the courses are given by industrialists (CEA or EDF).

Conventional fees are about 520 euros plus a participation fee of 4000 euros.

    The master is co-accredited by the INSTN (National Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology). The master also obtained the certification of the I2EN (International Institute of Nuclear Energy) for the second year.

    The partner companies of the master are EDF with its research center "Material Aging Institute" as well as CEA and INSTN. These partners offer topics for second year internship.

Registration fees


From September 2021, specific fees are added to the registration fees for International Masters, the amount of these specific fees is 1230 euros.

The amount of the registration fees depends on your nationality:
  • Registration fees are 243 euro for applicants from a country member of European Union.
  • Registration fees are 3770 euro for applicants from a non-EU country.

CVEC fees (campus and student fees) have to be added: 92€ in September 2021.

Program

M1

In the first year, courses focus on the fundamentals of materials science and reactor physics. An internship (2-3 months) is performed between the first and the second year.

M2

The content of the second-year program and courses has been established in collaboration with EDF, CEA/INSTN and Framatome engineers. The second year takes place over 2 semesters: all the courses of the master are taught in the first semester (September to January) : 2 specialized courses are taught at CEA Cadarache (3 weeks in january) and Material Aging Instiute (1 week in January at EDF Renardières) are part of the curriculum. The second semester is devoted to an internship of 5 months minimum in industry or research laboratory.
