Goals

Basic principles on cell irradiation. Dose calculation
Eukaryote cell culture. Visualization of cell clones.
Effect of radiations on cells (DNA damage and repair, cell survival).

Content

  • Part 1 :
    ESRF : irradiation of rat glioma cells with an X-Ray source. Dose calculation.
    CIME-bio : cell clonal dilution. Growth in Petri dishes
  • Part 2 :
    CIME-bio : Determination of the fraction of surviving cells from the number of clones.
    Lecture room : oral presentation about the labwork and the results obtained


Prerequisites

Interaction between radiations and the biological matter, Cell biology (DNA replication, DNA repair, cell cycle, apoptosis)

Tests
