Goals

Acquisition of necessary background for implementing digital signal processing methods and also elementary knowledge for random signal processing.

Content

Digital signal processing :

•Sampling (brief recall) theorem and quantization
•Fourier Transform of discrete signal
•Discrete convolution
•Digital filter with finite impulse response (FIR)
•Digital filters with inifinite impulse response (IIR) : first order and second order cells, stability analysis, ...
•Digital filter synthesis

Random signal analysis :

•General description, statistical properties of random signal.
•Statistical correlation.
•Stationnary signal, Wiener-Kitchine theorem
•White noise, filtering of a random signal



Prerequisites

Basis of signal processing: continuous time signal processing.
Fourier transform, signal representations, linear filtering and sampling.

Tests

Written examination : 2H
