Content(s)

Magnetism (12h)

  • classification of magnetic materials
  • magnetic nanostructures
  • characterization techniques
  • spintronic phenomena
  • applications (magnetoresistive sensors, magnetic memories, magnetic recording)
  • problems related to the use of rare earths
  • Superconductors: History, Experimental results, Theoretical aspects, BCStheory, Josephson effects, High temperature Superconductors. The aim of this part of the lecture is to get a basic knowledge of extraordinary properties of superconductors, in view of their possible applications and their fundamental physical properties.
