Goal(s)
Give the basics in physicochemical analysis will special emphasis on experimental labwork.
Level : Basics in physicochemical analysis technics.
Contact Richard BRESSOUXContent(s)
Basics in the fundamental of chemical analysis: compounds identification and quantification.
Lab work
- Need for a separation step before analysis ? (ex : ion chromatography, atomic absorption)
- Dosing of traces or concentrated compounds (ex. traces of alkaline cations in water, composition of a binary compound)
- Physical principle of quantitative analysis: gravimetry (ATG, ATD), optics (absorption/emission, wavelength), electrochemical (ex : conductimetry, potentiometry, faradic or capacitive methods)
- Precision, sensitivity, calibration
The media analysed will be varied (at least one solid and one aqueous solution).
