Goal(s)

The aim of this this course is to present a typical topic for the PNS based on a solid bridge between : fundamental physics and applications. To understand magnetism and to use it for current applications (sensors, magnetic recording, NMR,…) a lot of theoretical concepts are required. Nowadays the magnetism is focusing on the nanostructures since they are exhibiting extremely interesting proprieties from theoretical but also applicative point of view. A new branch of magnetism is born called spintronic based on the spin-dependant electronic transport in magnetic materials with a lot of emaerging applications. (memories, sensors, oscillators,…) .
