The aim of this lecture is to prepare the students for the lecture of quantum mechanics GEN 2A

This lecture is composed of three sections

Introduction to quantum mechanics (2 hours)
Wave-particle duality
Definition of a quantum state
Wave function and Schrodinger's equation
Free particle and Heisenberg's principle of uncertainty
Mathematical tools and postulates (2 hours)
Space of wave functions
Space of quantum states
Postulates of the quantum mechanics
General theory of angular momentums (2 hours)
Stern and Gerlach experiment (classical and quantum description) and introduction of the spin
General theory of quantum angular momentums



Prerequisites

The lecture is mandatory for students coming from PET
The lecture is highly recomended for students coming from PMP
At the end of each section, a manuscript will be given to students
