[INTERVIEW] Victor Sabia Pereira Carpes - Sustainable Electronics event

Victor Sabia Pereira Carpes, currently in his second year of the Integrated Electronic Systems (SEI) program, participated in the Sustainable Electronics event.

Last February, 52 students from Grenoble INP - Phelma, UGA and Grenoble Ecole de Management carried out two workshops on the theme of the European "digital product" passport for sustainable development.

The workshops took place over two half days in cooperation with STMicroelectronics, CEA, Grenoble INP - Phelma, UGA, Grenoble Ecole de Management, Akileo and Nanoelec to allow students to work and think about the digital passport of a Nucléo card. This is a small electronic card equipped with a processor and a memory that can, for example, program and control actuators based on events detected by sensors.

The students worked in groups on the two stages of the life cycle (manufacture and end of life) of two components of the electronic board: the microprocessor and the memory. The study considered the use of the board to transmit information from a sensor in one of the following areas: voice recognition, programmable lighting, mini weather station, bicycle radar and water quality monitoring.
