There are also two regional nature parks next to the city of Grenoble: Chartreuse and Vercors
Skiing :
The distinctive feature and advantage of the city of Grenoble is that it is surrounded by four mountain ranges: Belledonne, Chartreuse, Vercors and Taillefer. Each one has resorts for families and resorts that are more touristy, with a wide variety of sports and activities to discover: downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are possible a few kilometres from the city of Grenoble.
Culture
Grenoble plays an active role in the cultural dynamism of the region via its three “national theatres”: it offers support for all forms of artistic creation.
The Centre Chorégraphique National de Grenoble (CCN2) is currently the only choreographic centre in France run by two artists: Yoann Bourgeois and Rachid Ouramdane.
The Maison de la Culture, also called MC2, is now one of the most important national theatres in France.
Alongside classical cultural and artistic programming, for 15 years France has been bringing the arts and sciences into synergy.
The city of Grenoble offers first-rate museums, castles steeped in history and unique facilities
