- Generative approaches: Gaussian discriminant analysis, naïve Bayes hypothesis
- Discriminative approaches: logistic regression
- Prototype approaches: support vector machines (SVM)
- Unsupervised classification (kmeans and mixture model)
- Dictionnary learning / Sparse reconstruction
