Goal(s)

Master the complete design of an integrated system (digital, analog or mixed digital/analog), from writing the detailed specifications to the prototype, including the architecture specification, the definition of the validation plan, the implementation and the verifications. The work is in the form of a group project, each group having a different subject chosen during the first session.

Content(s)

• Analysis and detailed specification of the system architecture (hardware and/or software)
• Definition of the implementation schedule and task allocation
• Development of the blocks (digital hardware described at the RTL level, software, analog and RF blocks, etc.)
• Implementation of the prototype on a programmable network or subject-specific board
• Integration of the various parts of the system
• Demonstration at the application level

Prerequisites

Depending on the type of subject... Lessons from the first two years, or even the first semester of the third year, to be potentially supplemented by personal research on aspects not covered in class.

Test

1 midterm presentation, counting for 30% of the grade
A 30-minute report and final presentation per group (presentation, questions, demonstration) for 70% of the grade
If in lockdown: same, but presentations via Zoom and adapted demonstration
No make-up exams
