Goal(s)

The aim is to provide a comprehensive overview of the augmentation of human cognition from “natural” modalities (bodily and social) to low-tech tools and advanced technologies.

Content(s)

Given the breadth of the field, the course will focus more specifically on elements related to the research of the speakers, namely (1) anchored (or embodied and situated) cognition with an emphasis on the role of movements and the environment; (2) human-machine interaction (adaptation of different interfaces vs. adaptations of the users to the interfaces); (3) BCI (brain-machine interaction) and (4) alternative and augmented communication.
