Goal(s)

The aim of this course is to study the main stages of visual information processing in humans and to see how these different stages can be modeled.

The course is divided into four main parts.

The Eye and the Retina with Color Perception
From the Retina to the Primary Visual Cortex
The Primary Visual Cortex
Applications
Throughout the course, elements of signal processing and image processing are introduced to allow students to better understand some of the models proposed in the literature.

SESSION 1: In-person
Exam methods: Continuous assessment (CA) (BE report on PC), 2-hour written exam
Authorized documents: No documents allowed
Grade calculation: 70% exam + 30% CA

SESSION 2: In-person
Exam methods: The CA from session 1 is retained and a 2-hour written exam is repeated
Authorized documents: No documents allowed
Grade calculation: 70% exam 2 + 30% CA (session 1)

SESSION 1: Remote
Exam methods: Continuous assessment (CA) (BE report on PC), 2-hour written exam
Authorized documents: No documents allowed
Grade calculation: 70% exam + 30% CA

SESSION 2: Remote
Exam methods: The CA from session 1 is retained + oral exam
Authorized documents: No documents allowed Authorized
