Goal(s)
The aim of the course is to present the current theoretical issues of cognitive psychology in two areas of investigation where there is a strong interaction between psychology and other cognitive sciences: Perception and Memory.

- The first part of the course, devoted to Perception, will review processing models that can explain how, based on local and parallel coding, humans are able to identify scenes or objects in about a hundred milliseconds. It will conclude with the idea that not only is perception guided by action, but also that motor representations can participate in the perception and identification of forms.
- The second part, devoted to Memory, will present recent psychological models that integrate memory capacity at the very heart of processing processes and provide a unitary account of the different types of memory capacity, and will develop experimental arguments from cognitive neuropsychology.
