Computer-based process control and hardware/software interfaces for data acquisition and processing.

  • Knowledge of the computer standard and its interfacing capabilities with physical processes for measurement and control.
  • Acquisition boards and microcontrollers: structures, operation, and implementation (using LabVIEW software).
  • Several examples of experimental manipulations are studied to characterize:
  • Data transmission: instrumentation standards and their evolution.
  • Instrument management software, via NI LabVIEW
  • Acquisition and generation of digital signals (keypad management)
  • Acquisition and generation of analog signals (control of a DC motor)
  • Digital control, stepper motors, optimization of movement


Prerequisites
  • Binary coding
  • Analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog conversion
  • Algorithm basics, variables
