Goals

Learning the scientific workflow through an immersion in a scientific environment (laboratory). You will be supervised by a researcher or research engineer in a lab to acquire and explore the basis of experimental design in a scientific context.

Content

  • discovery of a scientific project and a scientific working environment
  • bibliographic study with the production of a state-of-the-art with regards to a precise scientific question
  • writing a scientific report containing the state-of-the-art
  • taking an adequate starting position for the development of a research project in Lab Project II


Prerequisites

VPMDIED1 Initiation to experiment design and research

Tests

Semester 7 - The exam is given in english only 

  • REP1 : report containing the state-of-the-art (approaches, methods, tools ...) with regards to a specific scientific question
  • PRES1 : oral presentation of the state-of-the-art with a projection of the tools that will be used in Lab Project II
  • SESS2 : in the resit session, only the part where the lowest grade has been obtained will be revisited by the student


N1 = 50%REP1 + 50%PRES1
N2 = 50%max(REP1, PRES1) + 50%SESS2
