Goals

The course aims to provide an overview of current issues and theories in linguistics with a cognitive science perspective (what is linguistic knowledge? where does it come from? how is it acquired? are there properties common to all languages? It also aims to present an overview of certain components of linguistics (such as phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics ...). Specific attention will be devoted to syntax and thus to the study of the structure of groups of words and sentences as well as the underlying combinatorial system.
