Goal(s)

To learn basics for engineers in crystal growth from gas (thin films) and liquid (bulk crystals) phases. Course is focused on ceramics.

1. Material synthesis from gas phase :

  • Industrial outputs of thin films
  • Kinetic theory and multicomponant mass transport
  • Vacuum technology
  • Thermal processes (CVD, MOCVD, ALD, etc.)
  • Physical processes (PVD, e-beam, sputtering, etc.)

2. Material synthesis from liquid phase

  • Industral outputs for bulk crystals
  • Phase diagram and solidification path
  • Technology of melt baths
