To give the basic knowledge on the optical aberration encountered in optical systems.

    • foundations and fondamental law

    • spherical dioptre and its gaussian approximation
    • cardinal points of centered optical systems
  • Complex optical systems and their defects :
    • eye example
    • characteristics of an optical instrument
