Goal(s)

experimental training based on a set of practical experiments covering a large panel of techniques
encountered in industry and in labs (cryogenics, vacuum techniques). The student realises measurements and analyses them with a critical point of view.

  • Superconductivity (4h): helium cryogenics, Tc measurement, trapped flux.
  • 2d materials: principle and use of atomic force and tunneling microscopes. Study of 2d materials.
  • Hall effect (4h) : study of a low gap InSb semiconductor
  • Quantum optics: Bell inequalities
