Goal(s)
To familiarize students with the concepts of industrial safety and risk fundamentals. Acquire the methods for carrying out a safety assessment on an industrial installation.

1) Probalistic approach
- Introduction (Definition of the used terminology, Study of major industrial accidents)
- Methods of failure assessment (Fault tree analysis, causal tree analysis, Process hazard analysis)
2) Deterministic approach
- Study and scaling of the causes and consequences of accidents such as explosion and fire
- Study of dust explosion phenomenon
Prerequisites
Base notions of chemical engineering and unit operations
