Goal(s)
- Understand which intellectual creations can be legally protected, and be capable of identifying the appropriate legal projection for each type of creation.
- Know the steps for obtaining an industrial property title (conditions, procedure, cost).
- Be able to identify the right person to contact for obtaining information on intellectual property, performing the steps towards protection, and defending IP rights, and know the professions within IP.
- Understand the strategic interests and limits of intellectual property for an economic player.
- Have notions regarding the violation of intellectual property rights and the legal acts that allow such violations to be sanctioned (infringement, unfair competition).
- Know which decisions to take and which actions to undertake in terms of IP at each step of an innovation strategy.
- Understand the importance of contractual measures within an innovation strategy.
- Acquire knowledge of the patent protection mechanism in France and abroad.
- Understand the importance of searching patent databases, and know how to perform a search in these databases.
- Acquire the skills for reading a patent document and understanding the various patent drafting methods.
