Goal(s)
The aim of the course is to presnt the different concepts of materials science and engineering. It will be shown how, by controlling the material's structure, it is possible to answer a set of functional constraints and thus transform matter in a material.

Mini-Project
The idea is to take an object from everyday's life, and to determine why it has been made of specific materials, how it has been processed, what are the functions it nees to respond. This work is made by groupes of 3 or 4.
Prerequisites
1st year course on materials at Phelma school
Course : written exam 2 hours
Mini-project : 4 pages document to deliver the day of written exam
10/20 : examen écrit 2h
10/20 : rapport sur mini projet
