Goals

This course aims at giving an overview of the evolution of materials during the history of the development of aeronautics. It is given part time by an engineer working in R&D for the development of alloy solutions for the aerspace sector, and part time by a Phelma professor.

Content

  • History of materials in airplanes
  • History of the evolution of Aluminium alloys
  • History of the discovery of the main concepts in materials science that have made it possible to develop aerospace alloys
  • Evolution of the characerization methods for imaging the alloy's nanostructures

Validation of attendance : 5 marks per course (0,5 ECTS)
