AMIS Students enlightened by the visit of the French Institute for Solar Energy (INES)

On October the 14th 2021, the students of the AMIS* Master Programme visited the laboratories of the French Institute for Solar Energy (INES). During the Science Day, the INES opened its doors to the public to give an insight of the latest scientific breakthroughs.
Located close to the Lake “Le Bourget”, the team of the INES presented its outstanding facilities including notably: Applied Research Laboratories, Testing laboratories, the “smart-city” site. It was a great opportunity for the soon-to-be engineers to get the full overview from the Research stage to the Testing and the Manufacturing process stages. Additionally to the technical explanations, researchers showed some applied products like the pedestrian crossings, the latest solar panels and sustainable houses (see the pictures below).

The 1st-year students of the EIT-funded Programme were delighted to explore more the value chain on solar energy. Among them, some wish to pursue their career in this field.
